| While the function and responsibilities of each job description is different, the job requirements for all team members are the same.
Job Requirements
- Be able to read, understand, and write the English
language at an eighth grade level.
- Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at an
eighth grade level in order to be able to make change,
complete shift reports and account for numbers in a variety
of products.
- Have sufficient visual ability to check identification
and process credit cards
- Be able to read and understand instructions for
operating electronic POS systems and other equipment.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds carrying cases of milk,
juices, soft drinks, beer, oil and other merchandise
- Be able to retrieve or stock merchandise from overhead
or under storage.
- Be able to stock shelves and coolers.
- Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire
extinguisher weighing 25 pounds and moving it to the fire
area.
- Be able to tolerate exposure to fuel and cleaning
product fumes.
- Be able to climb a stepladder to clean windows.
- Be able to speak and understand English, including the
ability to hear the spoken word.
- Be able to sweep & mop floors, dust shelves and lift and
carry out trash container and place it in the dumpster.
- Be able to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding
the store.
- Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature
of 32 degrees up to one hour at a time.
- Be able to stand for 8 hours or longer at a time without
a break.
- Be able to work at any location within a 30-mile radius
of your home. A store assignment will depend on the
staffing needs of our company. Reliable transportation
is a must as not all of our stores are on a bus line.
- Be able to work shifts by yourself. Single
coverage is the norm in some locations.
General Job Descriptions
- Store Unit Business Manager
The Store Unit Business
Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable
operation of their store.
Store Unit Business Managers are required to be 21 years
of age, have a valid drivers license, vehicle and proof of
auto insurance. All management members must have a
home telephone number.
The store Unit Business Manager reports directly to the
District Manager. Unit Business Manager Trainees,
Assistant Unit Business Managers and other team members
report directly to the store Unit Business Manager
Specific Responsibilities
- In addition to the Unit Business Manager duties, a Unit
Business Manager will be required to perform all functions
required of an hourly paid team member or assistant Unit
Business Manager from time to time.
- Be a team member
- Assure the Company's business affairs are
conducted legally and with equity, integrity and honesty
through personal example and proper encouragement.
- Assumes the responsibility of staffing the store during
all hours of operation.
- Motivate, train and supervise all CSR's for the purpose
of obtaining optimum performance and meeting established
goals.
- Project future manpower needs, train and develop
suitable replacements.
- Practice and promote Company safety policies.
- Implement merchandising programs and follow approved
merchandising plans so that the maximum potential of sales
is being realized.
- Be responsible for implementing and monitoring cash
control procedures to ensure total compliance with Company
Policy.
- Controlling expenses, including payroll within
acceptable levels.
- Maintain an overall store image that promotes guest
appeal in all areas including landscaping, store interior,
fuel islands, parking lot, etc.
- Implement established Company Employment practices and
policies including attitudes, applications, time records and
all other required legal procedures.
- Review results with the District Manager to determine if
assigned objectives are being achieved. Implement
corrective action per District Manager's instruction.
- Keep store's files current and neatly organized for
review by company personnel.
- Review Unit Business Manager Trainees , Assistant Unit
Business Managers and hourly paid employees performance
level daily as it pertains to store operations.
- Implement all approved plans, 0rigrams and projects per
District Manager's instructions.
- Promote overall cooperation between guest and employees
to achieve good courteous relations.
- Undertake special projects as assigned by the District
Manager.
- Continually review Operations Manual to assist in daily
responsibilities
- Immediately and professionally notify proper persons on
all matters of an emergency nature, i.e. injury, fatality,
robbery and money losses, etc.
- Be responsible for all store equipment.
- Follow operational, administrative and accounting
policies and procedures within authority limitations.
- Coordinate and approve Store Employee vacation schedule
with District Manager.
- Comply with all local and Federal laws and regulations
governing the store operation, including sale of alcoholic
beverages, tobacco, gasoline, diesel fuel, etc.
- Keep informed of company activities and inform all
employees of those activities, which affect their
responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain a close relationship with local
authorities.
- Keep District Manager informed of any supply price
changes.
- Ensure employees are adhering to correct operational
hours.
- Be familiar with all information required when damage
may occur to company or personal property.
- Keep the District Manager informed as to changing
conditions, activities, problems and opportunities in your
store.
- Orders, receives, prices and stocks merchandise from
approved vendors.
- Maintains proper ration payroll hours, according to an
approved work schedule.
- Completes the Shift Analysis and properly retails all
vendor invoices.
- Verifies, prepares and deposits bank deposits on a daily
basis and ensures that all money is kept in a secure
location at all times.
- Assemble, verify and submit all credit card sales drafts
according to current procedures.
- Handles all guest complaints in a fair and swift manner.
- The store Unit Business Manager provides that
leadership, Example, Judgment and Attitude necessary to
operate a successful Daily's Convenience Store.
- Assistant Unit Business Manager
The basic
function of an Assistant Unit Business Manager is the same
as the Unit Business Manager of their store.
Assistant Unit Business Managers are required to be 21
years of age, have a valid driver's license, vehicle and
proof of auto insurance. All management members must
have a home telephone number.
The Assistant Unit Business Manager reports directly to
the Store Unit Business Manager.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Unit Business
Manager are the same as a Customer service representative
and Store Unit Business Manager.
- Head Cashier
A Head Cashier is an Assistant
Unit Business Manager in training.
The basic function of a Head Cashier is the same as the
Assistant Unit Business Manager of their store
Head Cashiers are required to be 21 years of age, have a
valid driver's license, vehicle and proof of auto insurance.
All management members must have a home telephone number.
The responsibilities of the Head Cashier are the same as
a Customer service representative and Store Unit Business
Manager.
- Customer Service Representative
Employees are
responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their
shift, within company policy in such a manner as to ensure
that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of
the store.
Specific Responsibilities
- Observes shift operating hours at all time.
- Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store
Unit Business Manager or Assistant Unit Business
Manager.
- Gives all guest prompt and courteous service.
- Follows the work schedule as posted.
- Stays familiar with the Operations Manual, memos and
pricing information.
- Operates the shift within company guidelines to
achieve sales and profit.
- Prepares a shift change report at the completion of
each shift.
- Properly posts all hours worked.
- Notifies Store Unit Business Manager of any
discrepancies on the shift report.
- Rings all sales on the register.
- Accurately posts all voids and over-rings.
- Advises Store Unit Business Manager of any adverse
personnel situations or policy violations.
- Shares responsibility for controlling the inventory
on the shift.
- Follows company policy regarding security
procedures.
- Follows correct vendor check in procedures.
Management members are allowed to check in vendors only.
- Protects company assets at all times.
- Keeps coolers, store shelves and displays fully
stocked and fronted.
- Properly cleans and maintains all equipment as
directed.
- Uses suggestive selling techniques with all guests.
- Constantly maintains clean conditions in and outside
the store.
- Reports all accidents or injuries to the Store Unit
Business Manager immediately.
